Atkins Tennis Center Pro-Shop
The Atkins Tennis Center Pro-Shop features the newest racquets from Prince and Wilson; footwear and apparel from Nike, Prince, and Wilson; and string from Prince, Wilson, Gamma, and Luxilon. Other tennis specific accessories such as replacement and over-grips as well as tennis balls are carried as well. Much of the Nike Tennis apparel carried at the Pro-Shop is exclusively embroidered or marked with the official Illinois Tennis logo. These pieces may only be purchased at Atkins. If the Pro-Shop doesn’t have the size or color you’re looking for, a member of the front desk staff will attempt to special order it for you. Racquet Stringing
The Atkins Tennis Center Pro-Shop offers stringing services for tennis racquets as well as most racquetball and squash racquets. Choose from a wide selection of strings from Prince, Wilson, Gamma, and Luxilon. Prices for strings range from $16 to $32, including labor. If you bring your own string, the cost of stringing labor is $12 per racquet. Under most circumstances, Atkins will be able to string a racquet within 48 hours of it being dropped off.
Demo Racquet and Shoe Rental
Looking for a new racquet but not sure what best fits your game style? Atkins allows you to try the latest racquets from Prince and Wilson. Demo racquets can be used at a cost of $3 per racquet, per day. Up to $15 can be deducted from the purchase of a new racquet with demo receipts. A driver’s license or credit card is needed to secure a demo racquet. Atkins also offers rental shoes at $3 per use for those who have forgotten or who do not own tennis shoes.
Towel Service
Patrons of Atkins may take advantage of Atkins’ free towel service. To use a towel, please leave your keys, ID card, or a $1 deposit at the front desk. When you return your towel, the front desk attendant will return your keys, ID, or deposit to you. To guarantee you will have a towel, please bring your own. There are times where the front desk runs out of towels. Thank you for your cooperation.
