Welcome to the Atkins Tennis Center
Atkins is the home of the University of Illinois women’s and men’s tennis teams and is located in Urbana, Illinois. This facility is open to the public and offers a variety of programs and events for tennis players and fans of all ages. Information on all programs and events held at Atkins are provided on this website. If you have specific questions, please call the tennis center at (217) 244-8562 .
The tennis center features six indoor and eight lighted outdoor tennis courts. In addition, Atkins features public locker rooms for women and men which are open to all users of the tennis center. Atkins’ pro-shop, which is located inside the main entrance, features racquets, apparel, shoes, accessories, and stringing services for players of all ages and ability. The tennis center also holds offices for the Illinois coaches and the locker rooms for the women’s and men’s teams.
Not only is Atkins the home of the Illinois teams, but it also plays host to a number of elite events. Since 1996, Atkins welcomes the world’s top professional players as they compete in the JSM Challenger. Each July, Atkins also hosts the USTA Boys 18 National Team Championship. During the fall, girls and boys from around the world compete in the Illinois USTA/ITF Junior Tournament. Sentence deleted. Throughout the summer, juniors and adults from around the Midwest travel to Champaign-Urbana to participate in one of the U of I Nike Tennis Camps.

Hours of Operation
The Atkins Tennis Center will operate under the following hours beginning Memorial Day (May 26, 2008) and ending Labor Day (September 1, 2008):
Monday – Friday: 7:00 am – 10:00 pm
Saturday – Sunday: 8:00 am – 8:00 pm
